"[This is] the best opportunity to learn more about Concord. The sessions build upon each one so at the end there is no reason not to get involved whether [as] a nonprofit board member or as a volunteer!"

Lead

Represent your industry in the Chamber’s prestigious leadership program. Leadership Greater Concord (LGC) is an immersive program for area professionals who are interested in becoming more involved in the Capital Region community, providing a deep dive into our public resources and governance.

Discover the Capital Region

Beginning in September, a group of motivated leaders will embark on a 10-month journey into the inner workings of greater Concord. Each month, a day-long program will focus on different aspects of life in the region. Session day topics include:

  • History, Arts, Culture & Community
  • Livable Communities and Smart Growth
  • Environment & Sustainability
  • Criminal Justice
  • Communication & the Media
  • Government & Politics
  • Health & Human Services
  • Education

These thought-provoking session days feature speakers such as Governor Kelly Ayotte, Executive Councilor Karen Liot Hill, Concord Mayor Byron Champlin, Commissioner of the New Hampshire Department of Health & Human Services Lori Weaver, CEO of New Hampshire Public Radio Jim Schachter, and members of the Concord Police Department. LGC participants have personal conversations with these presenters and continue to engage with them after graduation.

LGC is generously underwritten by Unitil.

LGC Alumni

Now in its 33rd year, LGC has over 600 alumni, many of whom are making an impact by serving on local town boards, nonprofit boards or municipal committees. Many of these alumni are active volunteers in the community or work professionally for key organizations throughout Greater Concord.

I'm interested in applying!

If you are interested in the Greater Concord community, seeking volunteer opportunities, serving as a leader in your own community, or looking for an immersive professional development opportunity, then LGC may be the right program for you!
