Mental Health First Aid: A two-part workshop
Join the Greater Concord Chamber of Commerce and Riverbend
Community Mental Health, Inc. for a 2-part workshop on Mental Health First Aid.
This program will teach you how to identify, understand, and respond to signs
of mental health and substance use challenges among adults. Nearly 1 in 5 individuals
in the U.S. live with a mental illness; whether you are an employer, HR
professional, or work in a service industry, the skills provided in this
workshop will help you safely, effectively and mindfully support individuals
who are experiencing these challenges. This interactive workshop includes group
exercises and activities that will provide training for practical
situations—assessing individuals for risk of suicide or harm, encouraging
individuals to seek appropriate professional help, and interacting with
individuals in crisis. At the end of this workshop, you will achieve an
official Mental Health First Aid Certification. To participate, you must
register by Monday, April 17 and participate two sessions on Monday, May 1 from
1-4 p.m. and Monday, May 8 from 1-4 p.m.
