Last month, the Chamber held its annual State of the State forum, this year with Governor Kelly Ayotte. While sharing her administration’s priorities and vision for our state’s future, the Governor reaffirmed New Hampshire’s reputation as the “Beast of the Northeast” and emphasized the state’s economic resilience.
“There are lots of public and private partnerships, and partnerships with the nonprofit communities that do so much for us in New Hampshire,” said Governor Kelly Ayotte during her remarks. “So while we face some challenges… I want to repeat that I couldn’t be more optimistic about the positioning of New Hampshire. We are a very strong state, and we have a lot of opportunity, and I am confident that we will take these challenges on.”
Several key focus areas came to light during Governor Ayotte’s remarks— workforce development, education, and streamlining government processes. She acknowledged challenges such as housing availability and workforce shortages but expressed confidence that with collaboration, New Hampshire can continue to thrive.

One of the Chamber’s priorities is to keep our members informed of important state and local updates that could have significant impacts on the business community. We will be continuing the momentum in April by presenting our annual State of the City forum.
At this event, sponsored by Bar Harbor Wealth Management, Mayor Byron Champlin and City Manager Tom Aspell will provide insights into the City Council’s priorities, upcoming initiatives, and budget considerations. Attendees will gain a firsthand look at key city projects and their impact on Concord’s business environment. Don’t miss this opportunity to engage with city leadership and stay informed on Concord’s growth and future direction.
